Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is there a way that I can voice concerns about my landlord?
A: OOCP maintains a Landlord Information Sharing Program. The program provides a written record of challenges and/or positive experiences that students have filed against a particular landlord and any written response from the landlord. Files are organized by landlord and include a history of all complaints that have been filed against a particular landlord and the landlord’s responses (or failures to respond). This resource allows you to compare different landlords’ records, and you can use this information as one factor in making a final decision about where to live. It is useful to evaluate the number of complaints a landlord has received, but also the substance of the challenges and landlord’s responsiveness to the issues.
