Getting Around
Centro
Syracuse University provides free bus service to all students, employees and guests, linking South Campus with the main campus. Additionally, there is a limited service to the neighborhoods adjacent to the University.
The University contracts with C.N.Y. Centro, Inc. to operate fourteen shuttle routes including three "free fare" zones that operate through area neighborhoods. Buses run weekdays from 7 a.m. until 3:30 a.m. and weekends from 9 a.m. until 3:30 a.m.
The fourteen bus lines, Winding Ridge, Slocum Heights, South Campus, Manley, North Campus, Sadler/Brewster-Boland, East Route, Vincent/Nob Hill, Drumlins, Euclid-Westcott, Warehouse, Quad Shuttle, Connective Corridor and Carousel Express operate on a set of schedules available at the following locations: Bird Library, Schine Student Center, Office of Orientation a nd Off-Campus Programs, Department of Public Safety, Goldstein Student Center, and the Parking and Transit Services Office.
Buses are in full operation during the Fall and Spring semesters. At other times, when classes are not in session, bus frequencies are reduced. During periods of severe weather, Centro buses may be forced to use alternative routes to ensure the safety of their customers. If you are unsure if your route is operating on a snow route during a particular storm, please call Centro information, 315-442-3400, for specific snow route information.

Shuttle U Home (SU Home) Program
Syracuse University's SU Home service provides free transportation from the campus for students, faculty, and staff who reside off campus within a designated geographic area. SU Home is a newly formed program administered by the Department of Public Safety. The purpose of the program is to reduce crime against members of the University community and to reduce the fear of becoming a crime victim.
A six-passenger van transports individuals from on-campus classes, academic programs, and co-curricular events to their off-campus residences. Most of the employees who operate this service are SU students and are trained by the Department of Public Safety. The shuttle service runs from 8:15 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. daily throughout the academic year. To use the shuttle, riders must go to the lobby of the Department of Public Safety, located in Sims Hall, and show their SU/ESF I.D. The shuttle departs from Sims Hall. For more information about this service and the boundaries, visit the following web site: http://publicsafety.syr.edu/SUHome.htm.
