Q: How does my son or daughter activate the gas and electricity?
A: To have electric and/or natural gas service turned on, contact National Grid at 1-800-642-4272, or visit National Grid's website. When calling to order electric and/or natural gas service, the National Grid service representative will ask for the following information:
- Complete names, address, and telephone number
- Type of service being requested
- When the service connected should be connected
- Social Security number, driver’s license number, credit card number, or student identification number
- If the caller has had National Grid service in his or her name, the representative will ask for the previous address
