Q: If my son or daughter decides to live off -campus will it affect his or her financial aid?
A: According to the Financial Aid Office, as long as a student is not living at home with his or her parent(s), s/he will receive the same amount of financial aid whether s/he lives in a residence hall or in an off-campus apartment. Any financial aid in excess of the bursar bill can be refunded to meet off campus expenses such as rent, food, etc. Students living at home with their parent(s) are considered commuters and have a lower “Cost of Attendance” and receive less aid, as they do not incur room expenses.
